A guide to organizing a local chapter of the Youth Movement for Democracy. The current focus of the Movement is to promote LOCAL networking. If you want to participate in the Movement, the best thing you can do is organize locally.

The role of national chapters is to coordinate a strong base of local teams. So first we need these local teams!! The Secretariat will not endorse any national chapters until the country has local teams that need coordinating. If your local team has already developed a strong local network, then check out this guide and think about serving as a national or regional organizer.
Youth Forum for Democracy and Political Participation - English - Português -
A guide to holding a forum for youth in your community to develop a Local Youth Platform and meet with local political leaders to discuss issues of concern to youth. We strongly encourage YMD members to hold these events to build unity in local youth groups, engage youth with the political process, and strengthen the influence of youth in local government.

This is an adaptation of a fundraising guide developed by the OIYP for use in their recent Trade Justice Project. It lays out some basic steps to raising funds for an event, specifically travel to a conference or training. This is a good resource for members hoping to attend the Global Youth Conference on Democracy and Political Participation in December.

It discusses how a message is different from a slogan or a platform, how to identify a receptive target audience, staying on message, and the importance of using appropriate messengers. The workshop also provides concrete tools useful in developing a message, including the "Message Box" and "Issue Saliency Chart." It suggests ways to test and deliver a message and presents examples of successful and unsuccessful messages.
